ACS, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, was founded in 1989 by President Tarry E. Shebesta when he bought a car and found the process time-consuming and aggravating. It also left him wondering if he truly got a good deal. He decided that there had to be a better way! After researching alternative solutions, Tarry established ACS as a consumer advocate service wherein ACS would become an agent for car buyers.

As auto leasing gained popularity, Tarry found a whole new arena where consumers needed assistance. In fall 2000, ACS launched LeaseCompare.com, a service that allows consumers to compare new and used auto lease payments in real-time from multiple lenders and apply for credit online.

ACS owes most of its tremendous growth to repeat business, referrals by satisfied clients, and a reputation for honesty and integrity. ACS continues to receive kudos from the press and is consistently rated as one of the nation's top car buying services.
